The Village

Mousehole harbourMousehole, pronounced Mouzel, is situated just 3 miles westward of Penzance. Recognised as one of Cornwall’s or indeed Britain’s most picturesque villages with it’s narrow winding streets, stone built cottages and beautiful historic harbour. Our village is filled with old world charm and within the streets you will find many shops, galleries, a good pub, restaurants and tearooms. We have two small sandy beaches within the harbour and to either side of the harbour walls we are fortunate to have two very beautiful rocky beaches each boasting views across the bay and out on to St Clement’s Isle.

At Christmas time we have our beautifully stunning Christmas Lights which are second to none given the wonderful horseshoe shaped sheltered layout of the village.

Mousehole is a very vibrant and very much alive village with lots of different things going on throughout the year including Tom Bowcock’s celebrations, Sea Salts & Sail Festival and the Carnival Week.

We have many gift shops, galleries & places to eat here in Mousehole.

The Cornish Range

with Rooms

Formerly a pilchard-processing factory, pressing & salting pilchards landed by local fishing boats, the Range still holds its roots and is primarily a seafood restaurant.

Dishes are created using local ingredients – fresh fish landed & delivered daily from the port of Newlyn, meat from local hill farms, Cornish vegetables & salads and the finest West Country cheeses.

2 Fore Street Restaurant

2 Fore Street is a chic and stylish French bistro-style restaurant on Mousehole harbour front with views across Mount’s Bay as far as Lizard point. The menu changes regularly to reflect the freshest of local produce and boasts an array of crowd pleasers from old fashioned fish and chips, homemade burger with Cornish Blue cheese and red onion marmalade and locally caught mackerel smoked in house with a simple salad or made into a delicious pate served with our homemade bread toasted.
As well as the dining area, you can enjoy long summer days in a beautiful secluded garden.

At Christmas Time we are Very Famous for our Amazing Christmas Lights and Tom Bowcocks

The Little Picture Gallery

The Little Picture Gallery situated in the heart of Mousehole close to other galleries around the Millpool is a bright and friendly gallery . The works exhibited are a wide mix of representational, traditional, naïve and idiosyncratic. The gallery is open from 11 – 5 Monday to Saturday and on Sundays and Bank Holidays by appointment.

Jessie’s Dairy

I highly recommend all their delicious ice-creams particularly the salt caramel, sounds odd but tastes divine. They also have a wonderful menu of eat in or take away food.
